Mauretania madness has hit Tyne & Wear Archives Service with the opening of a joint exhibition with Tyne & Wear Museums to celebrate the centenary of the launch of one of Tyneside's greatest ships.

For the archives service the exhibition, which runs until 19 November at the Discovery Museum, is only part of a year-long programme of events including talks, visits to schools with the Mauretania Magic Lantern and a website, made possible by a grant from the Heritage Lottery fund.
